“Please meet Zip, a handsome 7-month-old American Blue Heeler with the sweetest smile! This smart young pup would thrive with a family that can provide plenty of enrichment, exercise, and outdoor time. One of our staff’s favorite things about Zip is the way his big ears perk up when you talk to him, as if he’s listening to every word. After a month at the shelter, Zip is more than ready to find the forever family he’s been waiting for.
And then we have Squeak, a friendly 10-month-old tuxedo kitty who has been with us for 44 days and is still waiting for her forever home. This sweet girl is gentle, outgoing, and everything you could want in a feline companion. She even has adorable little white “socks” and pink toe beans that stand out against her black fur. If that doesn’t win you over, I’m not sure what else I could say!
This is a friendly reminder that with the Fourth of July approaching, please keep your dogs away from crowded celebrations and areas with loud fireworks. Every year, we see an increase in strays as frightened dogs panic and become separated from their families. Dogs have incredibly sensitive hearing, and what may be fun for us can be overwhelming for them. A little extra caution this holiday weekend can go a long way in keeping your pets safe.”
