Yes, the Pepperidge Farm snack brand Goldfish crackers temporarily changed their name to “Chilean Sea Bass” for a limited time to attract more adult custome. I don’t get it. Well, the company wanted to show that Goldfish are meant for both adults and children, and that the flavor-filled snacks are not just for kids. The name change was also meant to be a playful nod to adults.
Because of an apparent decline in snacking since the pandemic, Goldfish is hoping to reach a new audience with this name change: Adults and Gen Z. Hey, toddlers are still cutting teeth with these fish crackers…and I’m still munching on them on in car snack attacks.
So they say this is a limited time change and will probably serve as nothing more than a big source of confusion that nobody has fond memories of. Good luck with this one, Pepperidge Farms!
