My First Radio Encounter: 1982 Brenda Lee. WOW… I woke up this morning with ‘Golden Earring’s – Radar Love’…in my head…”The radio is playing some forgotten song. Brenda Lee’s Coming on Strong”. It reminded me that SHE was the first celebrity I ever met (and the first to LOVE me…hahaha, thats kinda stalker freaky, eh? lol). I was at my first radio job in the Upper Michigan in Iron Mountain at WMIQ AM/FM. This was a fall fairground concert with Ray Price (from Hee Haw Fame – the Second celebrity I met). I went by ‘Jay Michaels’ on the air, I was 19, just starting my broadcasting journey 300+ miles from my hometown. Look where things have led me. I Wouldn’t change a thing. Period.
