A Lancaster McDonald’s was closed during peak lunch hours after a fire started in the fryer.

The Lancaster Fire Department arrived after an employee extinguished the flames, but the McDonald’s on Memorial Drive had to be closed from 11:30 to 1pm.

The cause of the fire appeared to be a crack in the heating element of the fryer.
