Mount Vernon Man Scams Elderly Person Out of Coins

A 21-year-old Mount Vernon man has been accused of selling non-existent coins to an out of state elderly resident. Officials say Michael L. Wallace allegedly stole $1016.00 from a 75-year-old Connecticut resident on March 12th. The charge is enhanced one felony degree due to the alleged victim being over 65-years of age. On March 30th, Wallace allegedly stole $1,700.00 from a victim in New York. In both cases, Wallace allegedly sold non-existent gold coins through the Internet.
