Colgate Showdown was held at the Midland

The stage was ablaze at the Midland Theatre Friday night for the Colgate Country Showdown.

Zack Shelton from Zanesville won the competition. Zack is 18.

He told the crowd of more than 600...that he was shy as he entertained the fans of country music. The judges selected Shelton from 10 different competitors. At the end of the show he received a standing ovation.

First Runner-up was Hanover's Bryan Lewis.

Zack will move to statewide competition in August.
