12th District Congressman Pat Tiberi is speaking out against the cap and trade bill and promoting his alternative energy plan.

Tiberi is focusing on possible job loss created by the cap and trade plan, and refutes House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s claim that the bill will create jobs.

Tiberi says Ohio is at a disadvantage for cap and trade because of our reliance on coal.

“There’s really no, nothing put in place to stop that competitive disadvantage," Tiberi said. "We are already losing jobs in Ohio. We’ve lost 300,000 jobs since Ted Strickland became governor, and this will expedite the job loss in Ohio.”

Tiberi says cap and trade will put a strain on small oil and gas companies that could run them out of business.
