Politicians and economic development leaders gathered at Pataskala City Hall this morning to discuss plans for the upcoming Job Ready Site and Pataskala Corporate Park.
Licking County Commissioner Tim Bubb says the advantages of the job ready site are obvious, from highway access to available utilities.
Bubb says the Ohio State campuses, C-TEC and COTC are attractive to businesses looking to train employees.
Officials hope to break ground on the job ready site in the coming weeks, but Bubb says there are more hurdles to clear.
“One has to do with clearing around a conservation easement and near, but not touching a wetland to the south, and we’re waiting for the EPA to ultimately say yes, let’s do it,” Bubb said.
Bubb says work could begin as soon as they get clearance from the environmental protection agency and the project could be finished by next summer.
