Shepherd on new Cameras

On July 1st, the grace period for drivers in Heath ends and enforcement of their new cameras begin.

Chief Tony Shepherd says the citizens of Heath said in a survey that they thought photo enforcement would be a good idea.


Shepherd says that the cameras work on a loop system.

“The cameras detect the vehicle. These sensors can of course give a time of day, speed and even length of the vehicle.”

Shepherd says there are no points involved, its a civil issue.


Shepherd says this is not about making money it’s about safety.

Any money raised goes directly in the city's general fund.
