A northwestern Licking County police department is receiving a grant to partly fund a police officer.
Officials in Johnstown say the village received almost $11,000 in funds to pay for an officer to teach drug education.
The Ohio Drug Use Prevention Special Grant awarded the funds to the village.
Johnstown Police have applied for grants to help offset the costs of the police department.
The grant program, which will be sending another check for around the same amount, will provide partial funding for an officer for one year.
